We are very excited the "Book Mobile" came by to provide books for all the second and third graders . We were awarded a grant from The Saigh Foundation for all of the second and third graders in the Cahokia School District to receive six new books, during the current school year. Thanks again on behalf of our students at Lalumier, Maplewood, Huffman, and Estelle Sauget School of Choice!!!!

CHS's Powerful Parents will be hosting our monthly Slide Class!! We will work on the Tamia Slide and learn a few others. Let's work off a few pounds and have fun doing it!!! We'll end with a relaxing, meditating cooldown and light refreshments. Meet us at the High School, Thursday, Feb 8th from 5:00pm-6:30pm
Parents and Guardians, please mark your calendars to attend our monthly Engagement Meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 21 at 6:00 PM. The topic covered will be "Parent Involvement Vs. Parental Engagement" It will be held at Wirth Middle School in the 6th grade gym.
Just in case you didn't know...........The celebration of Black History Month began as “Negro History Week,” which was created in 1926 by Carter G. Woodson, a noted African American historian, scholar, educator and publisher. It became a month-long celebration in 1976.

During the spring semester, CUSD 187 has partnered with Equip for Equality, to host a series of parent workshops focused on students with disabilities -- understanding special education, support, transition services, etc.
Please note the first session is this Thursday, January 25 beginning at 5:30 pm at the Board of Education office.
