Supplemental Education Service Notification
For the 2012-2013 school year, 3,302 students were eligible to receive Supplemental Education Services at Cahokia High School, Estelle Sauget Freshman Academy, Huffman, Maplewood, Penniman, E. Morris, Oliver Parks, Lalumier, 7th grade Academy, and 8thGrade Academy. 317 applications were received. Funding is provided to serve 200 students. Remaining applications are prioritized based upon academic need if and when openings become available. |
District NewsHigh School Graduation
Graduation is scheduled on June 2nd at 2 p.m. All attendees (including children) MUST have a ticket to enter the graduation. Graduating seniors will receive 6 tickets on the day of graduation practice (Friday, May 31st at 9 a.m.). Requests for additional tickets will be denied. Please keep in mind that we have to be fair to all students, therefore every graduate gets the same number of tickets. Please remember that every person (even children) must have a ticket to enter the graduation!
Kindergarten Round-Up
Children in our district who will be 5 years old on or before September 1, 2013 may enroll in Kindergarten for the first time during the 2013-2014 school year. Kindergarten registration for the 2013-2014 school year will begin May 1, 2013 at the Cahokia Board of Education, 1700 Jerome Lane, Cahokia, IL 62206. Please see the attached file for a list of documents that are required to register your child for Kindergarten.

Reminder of Physicals and Vaccinations for 2013-14 School Year
School Physicals are required for Kindergarten, 6th, and 9th grades. Dental Exams are required for Kindergarten, 2nd, and 6th grades. Eye Exams (completed by Eye Doctor) are required for Kindergarten. NEW IMMUNIZATION REQUIREMENT: All 6th – 12th Grade Students must have Tdap vaccination beginning next school year. Click on the link for more information on the NEW IMMUNIZATION REQUIREMENT *We encourage parents to have these requirements completed by the first day of school to prevent students from being excluded. Please schedule appointments with your doctors as soon as possible as most doctors appointment books fill up quickly. The Cahokia School Based Health Clinic (337-3117) is also available and conveniently located on our high school campus. The School Based Health Clinic is able to provide services to fulfill the School Physicals and New Immunization Requirement.
