This month the Participation Award is: Two Students out of the entire class that stay on for the  3:30 attendance  will be electronically chosen for a $25 Walmart Gift Card.! This month the Attendance Award is: Four Students out of the entire class with the most 2:30 Attendance will receive a $20 Walmart Gift Card! Good Luck!

Welcome to the 2020/2021 Lalumier Lions Site for the: Nita M. Lowey's Grow to Learn 21st Century After School Program!!:

The following is the: Lalumier After School Monthly NEWS for October!:

At this time, I will like to recognize the following Students in the “Lalumier Lion Lights” for their attendance and/or participation last month: Leona Goss, Zaniyah Tillman, and De'Andre Miller! Please Keep Up The Good Work

This month We are starting a new initiative for attendance and participation: there is still a lot of paperwork that needs to be completed for example; the Student Handbook, the food link, shirt sizes, and other documentation. By completing ALL of these items the Student(s) will be eligible for a participation prize, and by having stellar attendance the Student(s) will be eligible for an attendance prize. Two Student(s) (after an electronic drawing is done) will receive a $10 Chick-fil-A gift card and a certificate for the participation prize. In addition, the TOP 4 Students will receive a $5 Chick-fil-A gift card and a certificate for the attendance prize.

Thank You, Thank You, Thank You to ALL of the Parents/Guardians that have read and/or responded to my emails, talked to me on the phone, and any other form of communication...it goes a long way! 

My Staff and I have another FUN MONTH in the works for Our Students and the following are some of the brief details:

1. Week of October 05-07: The Students will continue to work on their directed drawings and Ms. Hanna will come in for games and other activities during the SEL timeframe, what an awesome addition She has been! 

            a. On October 08: The After School program will only have one hour of live session (2:15 - 3:15)                             please check out the Google CR for supplemental information and the following link

             

2. Week of October 12 - 15: Directed drawing will be “How to draw a lion” and We will take a virtual field trip to The Saint Louis Zoo in order to find out more about Lions (Our Mascot)! Thursday is a Virtual Field trip to the Sheldon Concert Hall and Art Galleries for an African Drum Concert.  

3. Week of October 19 -22: We will have the 21st Century After School Program on the 19th! Due to Day School Homeroom Teachers having in-person Parent/Teacher Conferences Our After School Program is canceled for (20 - 22).

4. Week of October 26 - 29: On October 29th Lalumier’s Halloween Drive-Thru Trunk or Treat will take place from 3 p.m. - 5p.m., but the program will still go on for those that will like to stay online and participate.

The following is the: Lalumier After School Monthly NEWS for September!:

From 08/31 - 09/10 (Mondays - Thursdays ONLY) my Staff and I were preparing for this years 21st Century After School Program via the videotelephony and online chat website (Zoom) this cloud platform utilizes the sensory stimuli.

There are a few changes this year in the Staff: Ms. Dorsey is the Site Coordinator (I was one of the Teachers last year at Lalumier), Ms. Blakely is the Teacher (She was another one of the Teachers last year), and Ms. Walker is the Paraprofessional (She is new to Lalumier, but has been a great addition).

1. Week of September 14 - 17: The Students received detailed instructions on the following;  Classroom expectations and procedures. My Staff and I familiarized our selves with the Students, and Ms. Blakely started the Pretest and Student Interest Forms.

2. Week of September 21 - 24: We started the academic portion of this program.

Nita M. Lowey's 21st Century Program for Lalumier School meets (3 hours/week) remotely, and the After School Calendar for this year is below:
