What’s Happening

We are already in April and the end of the program is nearing. Our last day of program will be on April 29th.  I’m so sad to think that the end is near.  I want to take this time to thank the staff, parents, and students for a different yet wonderful year.  This group has been such a pleasure and so much fun. Hope to see my 6th & 7th graders next year and good luck to my 8th grades on your next journey.  This last month will be filled with exciting things.  Parents if you received an email with a survey from our PHAT-C program can you please fill it out and return it to me.  As we prepare to possibly return to in person learning, please be aware that 21st Century will stay remote.  Parents if you have not completed the Handbook Acknowledgement Form and Dinner form please do so at your earliest convince.  I have included the links below.

ACADEMICS

Scholars are reading “Freak the Mighty” and seem to be really getting into it.  It’s making for great conversations about bullying and having sympathy and empathy for others.  The scholars really like it thus far, we shall see how it ends and what their feelings will be.  In science we are rolling ahead with our STEM lessons.  We will even be incorporating some STEM projects in our enrichment classes.   In writing we are continuing to work on our writing skills to become great writers.

ENRICHMENT

We had a blast working through the different escape rooms.  Some we got out quickly and some took us a little longer and we barely escaped.  We enjoyed learning about so many inspirational women. We will be doing different arts and crafts for our last month of enrichment. Mrs. Bernidini will continue helping our scholars get organize as well as dealing with the social/emotional aspects of this difficult times and transition.  We are continuing our PHAT-C program and learning so many new things. We are so excited to have Mr. Smith and his friends back with us.  They take us to so many different places. We will also be continuing our Nutrition classes as well.  Money, money, money!!!!! We are learning so much about budgets and money management in our financial literacy class.  As you can see, we have lots of fun activities planned for this month.
