HAPPY BIRTHDAY FROM ALL OF US
Wirth Academy
Wow!!!!! How time flies when you’re having fun! We are already in February. We didn’t get to take our roller coaster ride field trip in January but hopefully we will be able to squeeze it in in February. We will be taking a field trip to the Civil Rights Museum in Memphis, TN this month, along with the History Museum in Missouri. As you all may know this is Black History Month and we are planning to do quite a few activities, watch a few movies, and a few other things. I will be coming out to scholars’ homes to deliver some goodies that will help them to take part in some of the activities that we are planning, so be looking out for that. We want to send a huge thank you to the high schoolers that came and read to us. We thoroughly enjoyed and appreciate you all. You all did a fantastic job.
Parents if you have not completed the Handbook Acknowledgement Form and Dinner form please do so at your earliest convince. I have included the links below.
ACADEMICS
We will be finishing up our poetry study in the beginning of February and will be starting another novel that will take as almost to the end of the program. The scholars loved the last one and I am quite sure they will be just as interested in this one. In science we are rolling ahead with our STEM lessons. We are adding, subtracting, multiply and diving them. In writing we are continuing to work on our writing skills to become great writers
ENRICHMENT
The scholars really enjoyed learning about magic and how different tricks are performed. It was an eye-opening experience. Students struggle a little with origami, but we made it through and learned a little bit about the art of folding paper. Mrs. Bernidini will continue helping our scholars get organize as well as dealing with the social/emotional aspects of this difficult times and transition. We will be staring two new programs this month, Gene X & PHAT-C. We will also be continuing our Nutrition classes as well. Back by popular demand, we have Mr. Smith and his friends coming back to inform and educate us on all the aspects of performing and the arts. We are soooo excited. As you can see, we have lots of fun activities planned for this month.
