The teacher/staff candidate consistently demonstrates excellence in their current role.


The teacher facilitates engaging classroom instructional practices that continuously advance students to higher levels of academic achievement.

The teacher candidate consistently encourages and motivates students.


The teacher motivates and encourages students to exceed expectations both socially and academically.

The teacher candidate consistently demonstrates teacher leadership qualities.


The teacher serves as a positive role model for students in the classroom and throughout the school community.

The teacher candidate demonstrates creativity and imagination.



The teacher demonstrates creativity and imagination in their lesson plans and teaching methods that inspire students to learn.

The teacher candidate consistently demonstrates dedication to students and the school community.


The teacher demonstrates excellent attendance, punctuality, and a sincere desire to see students advance.

The teacher candidate communicates effectively with students and the school community.


The teacher uses a variety of methods (including social media), to communicate with students, parents, staff, and the school community.


  • Each quarter will have a specific criteria/theme.
  • Principals will choose the nominee for their building.
  • Teachers may not nominate themselves.
  • Staff, students, and parents may nominate candidates for teacher of the quarter. 
  • Principals will submit paper teacher nomination forms to Jen via interoffice mail by the dates indicated below.
  • Paper nomination forms and electronic nominations will be tallied by technology, and then provided to the building principal to pick a building nominee for that month.
  • There will be three winners per month (K-3; 4-8, and High School).
  • Winners from each category will be recognized in their buildings, at the District Board Meetings, and on the District Website.
